Children Facing a Parent's Cancer Month - National Webinar: How to Talk to Kids About Cancer [January]

In honor of Children Facing a Parent's Cancer Month, Pickles Group is collaborating with Kesem, Wonders & Worries, and Bright Spot Network to bring you a free, live webinar and panel of parent non-profit leaders focused on the unique experiences of parenting with cancer. Children Facing a Parent’s Cancer Month was founded in 2018 by our partners Kesem and is observed annually in January.

The webinar is hosted by our Chief Clinical Officer Kelsey Mora. You’ll takeaway practical tips and advice about parenting with cancer, and have the chance to meet four national nonprofit leaders and founders who get it.

Why? Each of our panelists have faced cancer as parents and caregivers with kids at home themselves:

More About What to Expect
Telling kids about a parent or guardian’s cancer diagnosis can be hard. At the same time, research shows that open, age-appropriate conversations with kids about their parent’s illness helps to decrease their worry, stress, and anxiety and promotes their social-emotional wellbeing. Our Chief Clinical Officer, Kelsey Mora, LCPC, CCLS, is an expert in supporting families through illness.

Register for this webinar to learn how to talk to kids about cancer, and hear from a panel of experts who will share their professional and lived experiences parenting with cancer. You'll also receive a free digital copy of our Pickles Family Cancer Support Kit, and a recording of the webinar to watch on your own time.

We're grateful to Kesem for founding this annual awareness month to support the millions of kids and teens who face a parent's cancer and excited to collaborate to better support them this January.
