Pickles Community,

We are humbled and grateful for the overwhelming support you have provided for our mission and founding families since we launched two weeks ago.

We know that having a parent or guardian with cancer can be a lonely, isolating experience. That's why Pickles Group creates thriving communities of kids supporting kids through their parents’ cancer journeys. Pickles kids develop resilience, have fun with friends who get them, and heal along the way.

We're launching our first free, open-enrollment programs in the Chicago North Shore later this month. We will expand throughout the Chicagoland area in the spring, and other cities after that.

We're asking you to help us spread the word to make sure that every family in the North Shore who can benefit from a Pickles program has the chance to enroll this fall.

Who do we serve?

We serve kids and teens in 1st through 12th grade with a parent or guardian who is within active treatment or requiring close monitoring for disease progression of cancer.

What do we do?

You can read more about our signature programs— Pickles Empower, Kindle, and Connect— here. Our team refers interested families to the right program for their kids based on upcoming program dates, locations, and existing neighborhood program enrollment. We encourage and invite all interested families to submit a youth interest form so we can connect them with programs to meet their needs.

How can you help?

Please share this message with social workers, teachers, principals, community organizations, healthcare providers, and friends who might know a family navigating a parent or guardian's cancer diagnosis throughout the North Shore for the fall and broader Chicagoland for the spring and beyond.

Don’t hesitate to contact us with questions.

In partnership,

Cassy Horton, Executive Director & Kelsey Mora, Chief Clinical Program Officer
